Evaluation and Treatment of Imbalances
Dr Madan is also an Ayurvedic consultant with 25 years of experience. He carefully evaluates key signs and symptoms of illness, especially in relation to the origin and cause of an imbalance. He also considers the patient’s suitability for various treatments. He arrives at diagnosis through direct questioning, observations and a physical examination. Basic techniques such as reading the pulse, observing the tongue, face expressions, eyes and physical form; and listening to the tone of the voice are employed during an assessment.
Ayurveda does not focus on disease. Rather, it maintains that the life must be supported by energy in balance. The Ayurvedic system believes the body needs to be in balance to achieve physical, mental and emotional health. When there is minimal stress and the flow of energy within a person is balanced, the body’s natural defence systems will be strong and can easily defend against the disease.
Ayurvedic Treatments differ from the majority of conventional cures in its unique approach towards healing. Rather than trying to cure a disease in isolation, Ayurveda takes into account an individual in his entirety. The Ayurvedic system believes that the human body consists of three primary life forces, which are Vata, Pitta and Kapha. These three are called the Tridoshas. A balance among these life forces is essential for proper health. When these forces becomes unbalanced, that is what can lead to negative physical, mental or emotional health.
Ayurveda describes the Vedic wisdom, how to live a healthy and peaceful life. Together with Yoga, it gives a detailed blueprint for a fulfilled enlightened life.
